Little Cayman Island Attractions
Little Cayman is the smallest of the three main Cayman Islands. It is located about 75 miles northeast of Grand Cayman. It is only 11 square miles in size, and has a population of less than 200.
Little Cayman has some incredible diving opportunities. The most famous dive site areas are Bloody Bay and Jackson's Bight. In Bloody Bay, Three Fathom Wall descends from 18 feet to 1000 feet in a vertical plunge, making it one of the world's best "wall dives".
Uninhabited Owen Island is about 200 yards off the south coast of Little Cayman. Strong swimmers can make the journey, to an entirely deserted island.
Little Cayman is also noted for some endangered wildlife, including the Lesser Caymans iguana, the hawksbill turtle (which is critically endangered) and the West Indian Whistling Duck. There is also a visitor centre for the largest population of Red footed booby birds in the Caribbean and a wetland of international importance, as defined by the Ramsar Convention.
