This gallery is the Cayman Islands' only noncommercial venue for the exhibition of art. Its kindly curator is quick to tell you that the premises the gallery presently occupies are temporary; a move to bigger, more impressive digs is expected sometime before 2007. In the meanwhile, however, the compact but efficient museum mounts about seven fine-art exhibitions per year, each containing about 60 works. About 30% of the art here is by local artists.
